The White Center Community HUB is a shared, inclusive, and vibrant space designed to support our community through access to resources, services, creativity, and connection. This Building Policy outlines the expectations for all visitors, staff, volunteers, and partner organizations using the HUB to ensure the safety, respect, and well-being of all. What are the facility use guidelines?
Shared Spaces (Multipurpose Rooms, Craft Space, Classrooms): • Usage must be reserved in advance unless otherwise specified • Room capacity limits must be followed at all times • Users must leave the space in clean, orderly condition • Supplies and equipment may only be used with prior approval and must be returned in good condition
Kitchen (Communal or Commercial): • Access may be limited to authorized individuals and partners • All food preparation must follow local health and safety regulations • Users are responsible for cleaning and sanitizing all surfaces, equipment, and dishes after use
Recording Studio • Operated by YES Foundation; access is limited to approved users and scheduled sessions • Noise must be contained within the studio space • Respect for the creative work of others is expected
Nonprofit Offices • Offices are designated workspaces for partner organizations • Public access is limited to business hours and scheduled appointments • Visitors must respect staff privacy and confidentiality protocols
Health Clinic & Daycare • Operate under their own state-regulated policies in addition to this building policy • Access is restricted to patients, families, and staff • No loitering or unauthorized entry into these areas
Program Participation • All programs are open to community members as specified by the organizing partner or the HUB • Registration may be required for some events or classes • Participants must follow all program-specific rules and respect facilitators and other attendees • Participants are subject to photo or video of their likeness being used in program specific media
Safety & Security • Emergency exits and pathways must remain clear at all times • Fire alarms, extinguishers, and other safety equipment must not be tampered with • The HUB may employ security cameras in public areas for the safety of all occupants • Visitors may be required to sign in and out during specific hours or events • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult unless enrolled in a supervised program
Prohibited Behavior and Items To maintain a safe, welcoming environment, the following are strictly prohibited: • Alcohol use, except at pre-approved, permitted events following all applicable laws • Tobacco, vaping, and cannabis use in any form, including smokeless tobacco, within the building or within 25 feet of any entrance • Illegal drugs or paraphernalia • Possession of weapons of any kind unless specifically permitted by law and disclosed to HUB staff • Gambling, except for licensed fundraising events as permitted by law • Unlawful entry or use of space without authorization • Defacement or damage to any part of the building or equipment
Accessibility & Inclusion • The HUB is committed to providing accessible spaces for all community members, including those with disabilities • If you require an accommodation to participate in a program or use a facility, please contact staff in advance • We strive to create a welcoming space for people of all backgrounds, languages, identities, and abilities
Pets & Service Animals • Only service animals as defined by the ADA are allowed in the building • Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted inside unless part of a pre-approved program
Lost and Found • Lost items will be kept at the HUB welcome desk for 30 days • Unclaimed items may be donated or disposed of after this period
Reporting Concerns • If you experience or witness inappropriate behavior or an emergency, notify HUB staff immediately • Reports may be submitted in person, via phone, or through our online form • We take all concerns seriously and are committed to maintaining a safe environment for everyone
Where should I park?
We have a small handful of parking spaces on the community center side of the lot. If lot is full, street parking is available along SW 108th St and 8th Ave SW.
Is the building accessible for all?
Our building is accessible through the ground/ plaza level and has 1 elevator towards the daycare. We will have handicap parking spots. There are handicap buttons at the front doors of the building. We have the 128 bus that stops right outside across the street from us.
What is the code of conduct?
All individuals using the HUB must:

Treat others with dignity, respect, and kindness.

Abide by all posted signage and staff directives.

Refrain from any discriminatory, harassing, or violent behavior.

Maintain appropriate noise levels and respect the need for quiet in designated areas.

Ensure that personal belongings do not block walkways or common areas.

Clean up after themselves in all shared spaces.
